Solar bore at Halls Head resource recovery plant

Our Halls Head Solar Recycled Water Scheme has been shortlisted for the Water Corporation’s Community Choice Awards, and voting is now open.

Working with the Water Corp, the scheme recharges and reclaims groundwater to keep our spaces green and healthy in a sustainable way. Reclaimed water was treated to an irrigation standard at the Halls Head Resource Recovery Plant.

During 2020-2021, the City was able to recycle more than 51,000KL of water which was used to irrigate more than five hectares of public open and active space in the city.

For more information about the 2022 Community Choice Awards, head to the Water Corporation’s website. To vote for our Solar Recycled Water Scheme, head to the comments on the Water Corporation’s Facebook post, where you can like the comment and tag City of Mandurah. Voting closes on April 22.

Our recycled water scheme keeps our reserves green while reducing how much groundwater we draw, helping us secure the future of our groundwater resources and the health of natural spaces around Mandurah.

We’re proud to be a community that nurtures our environment for generations to come.
